Traveling-Wave Antennas
Traveling-wave antennas are different from the standing-wave-antennas because they do not have a standing wave current pattern on the antenna axis. Typical examples are long-wire antennas (beverage), V-antennas and Quad-antennas. They are constructed so that the wave is absorbed at the end of the antenna axis. This can be accomplished with a physical resistor matched to the antenna impedance, or as a result of the length and environment.
